There are so many programs out there for editing and creating your work. One of the more prominent set of programs out there is the Adobe Creative Cloud.
From an industry perspective, the Creative Cloud is one of the most popular platforms to use and rightfully so - you can use it for so many disciplines (and these are just scratching the surface):
Photography: Lightroom, Photoshop
Vector Graphics: Illustrator
Website Design: XD, Dreamweaver
Filmmaking: Premiere Rush, Premiere Pro
Animation: Animate
